The Waiting Game

We've spent the last fortnight waiting for suitable weather to go to Portugal. Our plan is to cross Biscay and head down to the Algarve in a single hop. We're setting off this evening and expect to be at sea for a week or so.

There have been a few jobs to do in preparation, including provisioning; buying new charts; engine checks; making a courtesy flag:

... rigging a new Genoa furling line to replace the old one that we'd managed to chaffe in the middle:

... steering checks; navigation system tests; rigging checks, including a trip up the mast:

..and drying out to replace our prop anode, clean the hull, and touch up the antifouling paint.

It's now the day of departure, and we're finally feeling ready.
