Greece!

Γειά σας! Our apologies for the radio silence, time passes differently in Greece. All is well aboard Vagrant.

We had an easy two night crossing from Malta to Argostoli in Greece a month ago. The most notable event was the in-use gas bottle running out while Sara was cooking a lasagne. Since then we've been relaxing, reconnected with the Nidri Underground (the ever-resourceful Pedro easily sorted a gas refill), gorged on Greek cuisine, and generally watched the Ionian wake up for the start of the tourist season. The weather has changed from  frequently wet and occasionally very windy, to pleasantly sunny.

We know the Ionian well since our previous boat (Grace of Lefkas) lived here from 2004 to 2011, flying under the flag of Nisos Yacht Charter. Kate and Laurie from Nisos treated us to a nice meal in Nidri.

A mini-cruise of our old haunts was in order, so we spent a week meandering around Kastos, Kioni, and Fiscardo. In Fiscardo, we stumbled across Ruth and Rich whom we first met in Gibraltar. They are working on charter boats out here, and we hope to catch up with them again soon near Corfu.

Boat work continues as usual. We've been working on a tent to keep the heat way from our cabin hatches, and provide shelter from the occasional rain shower. Being able to use Pedro's floor as a cutting room helped enormously:

Sara spent hours on the machine stitching. I finally got it rigged today:

A few more tweaks are required, but we're happy with how it has turned out. I've some fans to fit below decks, but we're ready for the Mediterranean summer.
