Dom's adventure in the Cyclades - Part 1

My flight arrived in Mykonos around mid-afternoon on Wednesday 20th September and I headed over to Paradise Beach to meet up with lovely Phil and Sara who had sailed up from Paros and begin my 2 week adventure!

Thankfully we decided to not go out clubbing all night like the old days and stayed at anchor with a few Mythos to ease me into the Vagrant holiday lifestyle. The following morning we sailed off to Ermoupoli on Siros to the west.

The new pressure gauge for the water-maker I'd carried over had a different sized fitting than expected, so we went to track down a suitable do-dad. Customs hadn't found anything wrong with it when they had inspected it! We stumbled over a Lidl and collected a few other items...

The next day we had a short trip to a bay to the south by Vari for some swimming, watermaker tweaking and backstay rig tensioning. Phil did some epic climbing up the mast, foresail track fettling and diving after a roller furler track shim thing (?) that tried hard to escape overboard.

Then off to Naousa on Saturday in time for the Wooden Boat Festival with fantastic people, live music and Greek dancing as well as the boats to be enjoyed. A dolphin rode the bow wave and jumped to welcome us!

We didn't quite master the dance moves, but after trying the free Souma we didn't care. We lasted until 4am :)
